Busy Weekend

We sure had a nice weekend. It started on Friday when my parents, Tyler, and I headed down to the Sargents' cabin on Flathead Lake. It was a beautiful day to be at the lake. Tyler put his feet in, but that's it as the water was a bit cold for him. We all enjoyed a great meal (Rick's famous Ribs), great company, and an all around good time.

Nana Fofs and a happy boy

I love the lake!

Yesterday, Scott, Kirby, Tyler, and I went to visit Tally Lake, which is just about 15 miles from Whitefish. We are having a Great Northern campout next weekend, so we were checking out the site. Tyler and Daddy went swimming, we enjoyed a picnic, and Kirby got to run around in the grass. It was another beautiful day to be at a lake, and hopefully the weather will hold out for next weekend! We are so fortunate to live here, and are trying to pack in as much as we can in these final days of summer.

Crawling...standing...exploring

These 2 monkeys sure have been hanging out a lot together lately. Of course, now that he is crawling, Tyler is very interested in anything Kirby is doing and has to participate: playing with his toys, messing with his dog dishes, pulling his tail as he takes a snooze. But Kirby continues to be a good sport. Last night they were checking out the neighborhood together.

and so many kisses!

Tyler & his Buddy

Tyler and Kirby are getting along so well. Kirby's patience is growing more and more and it seems that he actually likes Tyler. If Tyler is being crabby, just seeing Kirby will make him smile and laugh, it is so cute. Now that Tyler is crawling everywhere, he seems to want Kirby's toys more than his own.
"Look! Kirby has something I want!"
"I am going to take it!"

My First Harvest

Since I planted my garden in June, we have been enjoying romaine and butter lettuces and a variety of herbs. Today was the first day that I picked actual vegetables. So far I have 4 zucchini, 2 yellow squash, and 5 green beans. I planted tomatoes pretty late in the season, so those are not quite ready yet. My jalapenos are coming along slowly, I think the large zucchini plants are shading them too much. It is exciting to be able to eat something from my own yard that I actually grew! I am already looking forward to planting next year and figuring out what works best.

When we go to Kalispell...

It seems that something always happens at my parents house that is blogworthy. Here is a video of all of us laughing. We are laughing at Tyler, who is laughing at Kirby. Kirby sometimes "runs laps" and it is quite amusing. We have been laughing at the dog for years, but it's nice to see that someone new finds it funny as well.

And today he got to take a dip in the hot tub! He loves his baths, so this was like a really big bathtub that he could splash and kick in.

And did we mention that he is crawling? He moves like lightning from a sitting position to all fours and then of course heads for things he shouldn't be touching. We really need to babyproof the house!
