Lakers Win!!!

Yeah! The Lakers won the NBA championship tonight, much to the delight of the men in the Larkin house. Tyler was very excited about the win.

Yay Lakers! Those may be his first words.

5 Month Checkup

We went in for Tyler's checkup on Thursday. He was in a very good mood and screeched and laughed the whole way through the appointment, until the shots came. But he recovered quickly and the doctor said that he is "developmentally advanced for his age". Like we didn't know that! He can roll over both ways, and according to my parents (who were watching him at the time), he can cover the space of several feet in seconds. Scott and I have yet to witness the traversing of the room, but I'm sure it will come before we know it.
Tyler's stats:
Length: 26 inches / 75th percentile
Weight: 15 lbs 6 oz / 35th percentile
Head: 17 inches / 50th percentile

Trip To San Diego

As I mentioned before, Tyler, my mom, and I flew to SD last weekend for Nana's 85th birthday. Although we were only there for 48 hours, they were 48 great hours. We had such a good time with Nana and Papie and hope to be able to go back and see them again soon.

The New Face

So Tyler seems to have discovered the camera. Whenever a camera is put in front of him, this face appears:

We are having to find creative ways to take his picture, or be really fast. Here is one from yesterday in his new jumperoo.

He is now 5 months old and really finding his voice. He loves to talk and scream silly noises. We often wake up in the morning to some kind of baby babble coming from the bassinet.

Back to California

My mom, Tyler, and I came back to California yesterday for my Nana's 85th birthday. Tyler and I came as a surprise, and boy was Nana surprised. I believe her exact words were "I am freaking out!" (when your grandmother is French, that is a pretty funny thing to hear). Aunt Veronica, Uncle Tom, Cousins Patrick and Micki, and Patrick's girlfriend Rae were also here for the celebration. We spent a quiet day at the condo and then headed to JRDN at the beach for a delicious and fun dinner. It is so nice to be here, although we miss Daddy.
Pictures will soon follow. It also occurred to me that I haven't posted pictures from Mother's Day, so I'll do that soon as well. There are some beautiful shots of Tyler!

Such a Big Boy

We hit another milestone this week, Tyler now rolls over from his back to his front. He usually does this within seconds of being on his back and then forgets how to roll back over to his front. He is getting so big so fast!

Trip to Napa

Last week we took a quick trip to San Jose and Napa, California. We were able to catch up with some friends that live in the bay area as well as do some wine tasting and shopping. Although it was short, it was a nice, relaxing getaway that we all enjoyed.

I think I prefer the chardonnay

I like this tasting business

Our weather wasn't quite as sunny as we had hoped, but it did clear up enough one afternoon so we could take a dip in the pool. Scott took Tyler around for a lap. At first, he didn't like it, but by the end, he was enjoying it a bit more.
