My First Truck
This is my truck that I have at Nana and Papa's house. It is so cool! I can push buttons on it and it sings a song and makes neat truck noises. There are 2 cars and little people that go with it. I like to push them around the house! I love my truck!

First snow of the winter
You never know what the weather will be like here in Northwest Montana. 3 weeks ago it was summer, and now it's in the 20's (dipping down to single digits at night!). Tyler had his first interaction with snow last night. We were at the Sargents house for dinner and they received quite a bit more snow than we did.

After feeling the snow for a bit, he started crying when he realized it his hand was freezing. And wouldn't you know it, absolutely no snow today!

September trip to California
We just returned from a week-long trip to the Bay Area. We were in San Francisco for 5 days and then stayed in the Napa Valley for 3 days. We were able to see see friends and family, go to an A's game, take a ferry ride to Sausalito, and go to our friends Erik and Nicole's wedding. It was a great trip!
Getting ready to take the ferry to Sausalito. It was a gorgeous afternoon and we were able to eat at our favorite restaurant over there with a beautiful view of the water.
Tailgating in the parking lot before the game, just like old times.
Let's go Oakland! The A's won at Tyler's first baseball game.
Enjoying a picnic and some wine at Viansa winery.
View of the Napa Valley
A private tour and tasting at Duckhorn. It was a fabulous experience with delicious wine and cheese pairings.
Scott and Tyler at the entrance to Castello de Amorosa, a winery that has been modeled after an 18th century Tuscan castle.
At Rombauer vineyards. We also had a private tour and tasting here.
The wedding was absolutely beautiful. They were married at Sts. Peter and Paul's Church in San Francisco. The reception was out at the Olympic Club and was a lot of fun.
We were at the Kappa Sigma table. It was great to see these guys again!
Time to hit the dance floor!
Monkeying around at the SFO airport as we wait for our flight.

From Monkey to Monster
It only took a week for the transformation. Tyler has been mobile for a while, but now he is constantly everywhere. We installed baby gates to contain him to the kitchen and family room area and he likes to stand at them, bang on them, and yell. He has now successfully opened drawers, so it must be time to install the baby latches. He is still the cutest kid around, but what a handful!
He likes to stand at the oven and look at his reflection in the glass. We have baby handprints on everything at his height! Here is is trying to open a drawer.

More Summer Fun
This past week was a lot of fun for us. Last Sunday, we had the first annual Great Northern Bar Employee camping trip. We had a great turnout, perfect weather, and a super time. Tyler was a hit with everyone, and Kirby was surprisingly good as well. We swam in Tally Lake, grilled burgers, played volleyball, and had a campfire. I hadn't been camping in years, so it was a nice way to get back into the swing of it. Staying in Doug and Christine's new trailer was a nice touch as well.
Having a great day!
Later in the week, Scott, Tyler, and I went back down to Flathead Lake to the Sargents Cabin. It was a perfect day. The water temperature was cool enough to be refreshing, but warm enough that you could swim in it all day. Tyler even came in for a while and seemed to enjoy it. We had beautiful weather and really savored every moment. It was a nice break for the three of us to have. Now with Labor Day weekend here, the summer is almost over. We are so fortunate to live in a place that people come for their vacations, and we remember that each day.
