March Madness

Scott had some of the guys over on Thursday for the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament. Getting into the sports theme of the day, we put Tyler in his little Adidas outfit. I must say, is this kid cute or what?
Notice the Bobcat socks... even though they didn't make it to the big dance this year, at least they beat the Griz, right?!

St. Patrick's Day

Tuesday was not only Tyler's first St. Patrick's Day, but it was also Scott's birthday. We found this cute outfit in California.

Tyler and Daddy the Birthday Boy

Scott had to work that night, and so he got all dressed up.
Tyler isn't sure how Daddy looks with green facial hair

We celebrated Scott's birthday last night with a delicious meal at Wasabi.Mike, Kathy, & Joey helping Tyler decide what kind of sushi to get

Future Kappa Sigs

Erik "Dale" Garberg, his wife Kristi, and son Wyatt were up in Whitefish this weekend for a wedding, so we were able to have the two babies meet. They are about 6 weeks apart, so we look forward to watching them both grow up together.

Of course we met at the bar, so we just HAD to have the boys pose in front of the beer taps!

Day at the Beach

We had perfect timing with our trip to San Diego to get out of the blizzard and subzero temperatures of Whitefish. Instead of snow, we were lucky enough to see the sun every day, and even wear shorts! We were able to visit the beach a couple of times and Scott put Tyler's feet in (getting him ready for the surf days ahead of him). We had such a great trip and were able to spend time with family and friends. Tyler loved meeting everyone and hopes to go back soon!

Off to San Diego!

Today we had our first airplane trip with Tyler. Destination: San Diego. We arrived around 9 am to sunny skies and the smell of grass, flowers, trees, the sea... Quite a change from the blizzard-like conditions we left in Montana. Once we arrived at Nana and Papie's condo, we spent the day with Nana and Papie, my Aunt Veronica and Uncle Tom, Cousin Alex and his wife Micki (all from Huntington Beach), and Nico. We had a great day and then us kids (me, Scott, Nico, Alex, and Micki) went to JRDN for a delicious dinner as the sun set on the Pacific. Nana and Papie babysat a sleeping Tyler.

Speaking of the little guy, he was a champ on the airplane. Only a couple of peeps on each flight, and once he got a hold of the bottle, happy as a clam. The worst part of the trip was from Kalispell to Salt Lake when the woman in front of us had a screeching dog under her seat. The dog was whining so loudly it sounded almost human. After 20 minutes of this ruckus, I noticed the dog was suddenly sitting in the woman's lap (last time I checked, the animal must remain in the airline-approved carrier at all times, lady!) Turns out, this dog was so distressed he literally clawed his way out of the canvas carrier. She had to hold him for the duration of the flight. Now I thought this dog was a bit large for traveling in the cabin (20 pound limit, lady!), and my thoughts were verified when we saw Fido walking around the Salt Lake airport. The poor pooch must have been crammed in the crate because he was taller than the carrier and probably weighed a good 30 pounds. No wonder he was upset!

All in all we had a great trip here and are looking forward to spending the week with more family.

The happy traveler

2 Month Checkup

Today Tyler had his 2 month checkup. He weighed in at 11 lbs 11 ounces, which is in the 50th percentile. I knew he was getting heavy, but did not expect that! He is 23 inches long, which is also in the 50th percentile. So far our boy is growing along at a perfect rate. He also experienced his first shot, which he hated. At least the bright red screaming face that happened after the shot seemed to say, "I hate this!". The video below is of him later in the afternoon, after a nap and a bottle.
