Happy Holidays to everyone! We have had a busy couple of weeks in the snow. Holiday visitors including Eleanore and Andy and Julie Gendler were a lot of fun, and then the Christmas festivities were upon us. We were able to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas with our friends and family and it was so nice to be able to be together.
On the baby front, I am 17 days away from my due date, but I am ready whenever this baby is! The nursery is ready, the hospital bags are packed... all we are missing is Little Larkin. Of course we will keep everyone posted of any happenings. Hope you are enjoying the last days of 2008 and looking forward to a fantastic 2009!

Lamaze class
Tonight was our last "birthing class", that's what they call the Lamaze classes these days. After 6 weeks, we learned a lot of helpful information to get us prepared for the big day. I am due in 5 weeks and everything is going along just "great"(that is the word my doctors use; "great heartbeat, great kicking, great blood pressure..."). My last day of work is December 20th and I am really looking forward to having some time off before the baby comes. With lots of family and friends visiting over the holidays, it will be nice to be able to relax and not worry about going to work at 5 am. Here are a couple of pictures from class tonight with Scott wearing the "empathy stomach".

San Diego
A couple of weeks ago, my mom, Scott's mom, and I went to San Diego to have the family baby shower. We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at my Aunt Chris and Uncle Neal's house overlooking the ocean and were able to spend time with my grandparents, Aunt Veronica, Scott's sister Joy and stepmom Gayle, and cousins Kate, Anne, Meredith, and Leigh. It was so great to see everyone and be able to enjoy the California sun. Thank you everyone for the wonderful gifts and words of advice and support!

Is Winter Here Already?
I should remember from growing up here how fast the seasons change, especially from fall to winter, but it's still a surprise. The past 2 days have gone from beautiful, crisp fall afternoons to huge snowflakes falling. We woke up this morning to Big Mountain covered with its first layer of powder. Maybe this means another fantastic ski season?

Baby Shower
Sarah calls this picture "bun in the oven"
Last weekend we had the local friends and family shower. It was a lot of fun and out-of-staters Katie (Scott's sister) and Sarah Spindle were able to come up to join us. Thank you to everyone for the beautiful gifts. We are well on our way to being prepared for Baby Larkin! A very special thank you to Kelly for hosting the shower and thinking of every detail.

Kirby in Baby Gear
So we have started to receive baby gifts. Of course, I need to try them out so who better than the 10 pound dog who thinks he IS the baby? Kirby actually will let me carry him around in the sling, but wants nothing to do with sitting in the strollers. These pictures took many treats to get just right. Thank you to Chris and Neal for the Maclaren and to Nana and Papie for the Bob, the SUV of strollers! We can't wait for baby boy Larkin to use his new gear, sorry Kirby!
Our House
I thought I would post a picture of our house since the last time some of you visited, it wasn't finished or there was no landscaping. We are now officially ready for fall, the most beautiful season up here. Last night reached a chilly 22 degrees, but today we have sunny skies. I fear the snow will be here before we know it!

Welcome to our blog
Hello! Welcome to the first posting of our blog. We thought that with a new baby boy on the way, this would be the easiest way to share information about life in Whitefish and what is happening with us. Keep checking back for updates!
