We Proudly Announce the Arrival Of...

... Tyler John Larkin

Our little guy came into the world 10 days earlier than expected. Mommy had a prenatal massage on Saturday afternoon and her water broke 30 minutes later. After checking into the hospital around 7 pm, we experienced the beauty of contractions until 2 am when the epidural came. At 5 am the doctor announced that although the baby was head down in the birth canal, he was upside down and that a c-section would have to be performed if he didn't turn. Well, he didn't turn so we went into surgery and our little boy was born at 8:35 am on Sunday, January 4th. He came in at 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 inches long. He is doing very well and is super cute. We get to go home tomorrow. Thank you to all of our friends and family that have called and visited us. Tyler can't wait to meet everyone!

Look how lil' Lil' Larkin is! The picture with your hand reminds me of the picture of Scott's hand holding up Kirby when he was a puppy. Adorable!!

Tyler, petit Prince: Someday you will understand that you are very lucky to be born to exceptional parents, who did extraordinary things at the time of your birth. They forgot their needs, their pain, their anxiety to entirely focus on you, to make sure you would make your entrance in this world happy and intact. Yet, you did not make it easy for them, you little kicker: the unbilical cord wrapped around your ankle like a surfer on his long board, the face in the wave! It was not a good idea. Their courage has been remarkable, your Mommy endured for long hours the fatigue and the physical pain of labor. When the time to extricate you from her womb came she accepted any measure that would be safe for you. Your Daddy showed exceptional courage, staying near your Mom, watched you come to life and opened his arms to protect you and love you. You are our great grandson. You stole a few of our genes, we hope the good ones that will make you perfect along those of your parents, grandparents and all your ancestors. You are the new link in the chain we all formed for you. We will try to protect you, to give you a good life, to prepare you for the vicissitudes of our imperfect world. Be good and happy little Tyler. Be patient Stef and Scott. All our love to the Trinity you now form. Papie and Nana
