Markers & Cake

We're all for Tyler being crafty and coloring, but in the past few days, we have found marker all over the family room. This morning we caught him doing graffiti on the couch, and when I went to clean it up, I noticed he had marked the walls, windows, and other couch and chair. What an artiste!

Check out my handiwork, Mom! ... and on the windows too!
In other news, I have been working with fondant frosting. I used it for Tyler's Muno birthday cake, but wanted more practice. Luckily my mom's birthday was yesterday, so it was the perfect excuse for more cake making! I made her a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling, and covered it in white fondant. For some color, I dyed some of the fondant purple and cut out polka dots. It turned out really well! I won't be opening my own bakery anytime soon, but it is a fun technique to use.
Happy Birthday Mom!

mmm... delicious!

Tyler loves playing with flour and the rolling pin...
... then he sneezed and it got everywhere!

Tyler is a "handome" artiste. How musc fun is he
having? What a cutie pie.
Love the cake, Stef. It looks beautiful and I'm sure
it was fabulous.
Are you up for zip lining with me & Nico in
August?

I knew this would happen very soon: you now have your personal decorator-designer in residence. I am sure you provided him with washabble markers or crayons. You also have a pastry chef in the making almost ready for mother/son lucrative enterprise. Your cakes are beautiful. You have to experiment with cakes or pear tarts enriched with frangipane. I also hope you both will become PATE EN CROUTE specialists. We do not find those in America. When you are ready and if I am not yet a pure spirit I could become your consultant!!! Both of you, continue your good work. With love, Nana
