EB + LE

Last weekend we made a road trip to Great Falls for our friends Eleanore and Leif"s wedding. It was two days of fun seeing old friends, drinking at the Sip 'n' Dip Bar, and of course, the highlight being a truly beautiful wedding. Eleanore and Leif made their wedding very personal, from the hand sewn boutonnieres to the old fashioned typewriters to write the happy couple a note, it just felt like them. Thank you for including us in your celebration!

The Sip 'n' Dip lounge is a tiki bar in the hotel we were all staying in. It has a window from the bar that looks into the deep end of the pool, During the day, you can watch your friends feet as they swim.... at night, a mermaid and merman swim in the pool, complete with bikini tops and mermaid tails on the bottom! It was quite a show!

Scott and Doug at the reception. It was held at the CM Russell Museum which was really neat.

Leif is getting his PhD in literature... what an appropriate cake! The groom's cake and the delicious wedding cake: lemon filled with huckleberry!

Swimming!

Tyler is a big fan of swimming. Yesterday Scott took Tyler up to Tally Lake to visit Doug and Christine since they have parked their camper up there for a couple of weeks. The water was a bit too cold for Tyler, but he had a great time running and playing in the woods. Hopefully the water will warm up by the time we go camping up there in a couple of weeks.

Here are a couple pictures of Tyler swimming in the hot tub, which is considerably warmer than the lake!
He loves to wear his life jacket and just float around. He wears this silly grin on his face most of the time he is in the water!

He gets kind of upset when it's time to get out. Here is his pouty face.

Busy Week

This past week was really busy for us. Our friends Chris and Sarah Hough from Alaska came and stayed with us. Scott took them to Glacier on Tuesday, where the weather was gorgeous and wildlife was seen. Tyler was a great sport too! On Wednesday we went rafting on the Middle Fork. It was a perfect day for the river: blue sky, just enough rapids to be interesting, and great company. On Saturday we went to a street fair in town and they had a petting zoo. Tyler was able to see some goats and a horse, which he was ok with petting since he spent some time with Doug and Christine's on Friday night. We are looking forward to taking him to the fair in a couple weeks so he can see more animals.
I want to go on a hike!

Trying to give the goat a kiss. Lately he wants to give a kiss to all animals, especially white ones, even in books. Kirby has had his fill.

Trip to Wisconsin

Scott and I just got back from 5 days in Wisconsin...without Tyler. It was our first trip together without our boy. Although we missed him very much, it was nice to get away. Scott was in his friend Clint's wedding. We spent Wednesday and Thursday in Door County, Wisconsin, with our good friends Tod and Erin. Door County is called "The Cape Cod of the Midwest". Fish Creek is very charming, cute, and definitely a place we plan on visiting again. Here are a couple of pictures of us on the shore of Lake Michigan. Stay tuned for photos and details of the wedding!

Tyler stayed with our parents while we were away and had a fabulous time with them. Thank you so much for taking care of our little monkey!

First Trip to Urgent Care

Don't be alarmed... everything is fine. Today Tyler woke up with a big infected blister on the tip of his left index finger. It popped, looked fine, and then after playing outside, the entire finger was red and swollen. Our pediatrician is out this week, so off to urgent care we went. It took a nurse, Scott, and I to hold our monkey down while the doctor drained the blister and removed what looked like a sliver or stinger of some sort. As of bedtime, his finger was looking good and he'll make a full recovery and be back to digging in the dirt in no time.
In other news, Tyler got to wear his red shoes for the first time today. How cute are they?

Check out my new kicks!

4th of July Weekend

Hope everyone had a nice long weekend! Katie and Aric were in town and it was so great to see them (and Katie's belly full of twins!). We had a baby shower for Katie on Saturday which was very nice. The weather while they were here wasn't top notch, so we pretty much just hung out with the family and ate a lot. Tyler also had his first introduction with the horses at Grandpa Doug and Grandma Christine's house. On the 4th, Scott, Tyler, and I went out to the Peschels gorgeous home on Whitefish Lake for a couple of hours. Tyler was obsessed with playing in the fountain they had. We had to leave before the fireworks started, but Tyler didn't seem to be a big fan of the noise anyway. Maybe next year?
Yay! Water! My Favorite!

Nice Horsey!
